JJ Cale Tobacconists Clearwater Mall is a premium store in our chain of 16 stores across Gauteng, Kwa-Zulu Natal and Western Cape. JJ Cale opened its first store in 1973 and has a proud heritage. We are known for our exclusive tobacco and accessory product ranges. Our products make great gifts and are appreciated by all tobacco connoisseurs. The store was named after the famous singer himself. JJ Cale Born John Weldon Johnson Calahan has been a pioneer as an American rock guitarist and a blues-rock singer since the late '60s. He's had eight albums certified gold by the RIAA for album sales of over 500 000 copies each, including four consecutive platinum albums from 1971 to 1975, with his best-selling release being 1975's Okie; he ranks among the likes of the Rolling Stones, Led Zeppelin & Jimmy Hendrix.
