CORPORATE RESPONSIBILITY

At Clearwater Mall we strive towards a greener and more eco-friendly environment, implementing strategies to ensure that our property uses resources such as water and electricity sparingly.

During the last five years, we have managed to recycle on average more than 87% (500 tons) of waste that has been generated by the mall stores and restaurants.

By installing waterless urinals in 2017 and water-saving propel-air toilets in 2020, we have managed to reduce our water consumption in the last 6 years by almost 40%.

We are proud to mention that our Solar Power installation has allowed us to reduce our electricity consumption in the last 5 years by 30%. Clearwater Mall generates enough solar power electricity to power 400 houses.

Remaining green and reducing our carbon footprint is an ongoing priority and we will continue to ensure that the most efficient efforts are implemented to grow towards an even greener strategy.

Clearwater Mall partners on many initiatives and projects to support the community such as the CANSA Shavathon, Cupcakes for Cancer, Blood Bank Drives, SPCA, Matla - a - Bana (Voice Against Child Abuse), Yellow for Survivors (Against Gender-Based Violence), The Baby Moses Sanctuary and many more.

To celebrate Madiba’s legacy, we embrace Mandela Day with unique initiatives, inviting members of the public and corporates to donate their 67 minutes at the centre on Mandela Day, supporting worthy beneficiaries such as LEAP Science & Maths Schools.

Each December we have two gift wrapping stations in-centre to assist customers. All proceeds are donated to Helderkruin Lions.

Throughout the year, we assist schools and charity organisations in Johannesburg with their fundraising efforts. We encourage all visitors to participate in our various initiatives, as we aim to support our community.
